PhD Student
Angela (Angie) earned both her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich, Switzerland). From 2020 to 2024, she pursued her PhD in Biomedicine in the Gebhard Lab, where she successfully defended her dissertation “Sex Differences in the Progression of Left Ventricular Hypertrophy” in May 2024. In her doctoral research, Angela employed state-of-the-art imaging modalities, including small-animal cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). She also applied a broad range of molecular biology techniques to investigate signal transduction pathways. Outside the lab, Angela enjoys experimenting with new recipes in her kitchen and exploring different cuisines. She is also an avid reader—there is always a good book in her bag.
