We are happy that Anna Luisa has now started her medical master thesis in our group. Her research is titled «Association Between Low-Grade Inflammation and Supernormal Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (snLVEF)».
Nik successfully defended his bachelor’s thesis titled «Does Quantification of Fat Attenuation Index add Prognostic Value as an Adjunct to State of the Art Cardiovascular Imaging? A Gender-Specific Exploration of Fat Attenuation as a Marker of Perivascular Inflammation».
We are excited to be starting our first runs on the SNSF R'EQUIP funded pre-clinical magnetic resonance (MR) scanner. Many thanks to Dr. Petra Seebeck of the Integrative Rodent Physiology (ZIRP), University of Zurich for organizing a «Train the Trainer» meeting together with MR Solutions.

We are happy to announce that the European Heart Journal published our review article about «Sex and Gender in Cardiovascular Medicine: Presentation and Outcomes of Acute Coronary Syndrome». We discuss the potential mechanisms and non-traditional risk conditions influencing gender and sex differences in vascular biology, clinical presentation, and outcomes of acute coronary syndrome.
