Muriel studied pharmaceutical sciences at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ, CH) and obtained her PhD in molecular pharmacology for her research on GPCR-signaling in the context of cardiovascular disease. This was followed by employments in public pharmacies consulting patients and at the Federal Office of Public Health ensuring patient access to affordable pharmaceuticals. Muriel joined the Gebhard Lab as a part-time research fellow from 2020 to 2021. Given her broad expertise she was involved in both preclinical as well as clinical projects to explore the impact of sex and gender on COVID-19.
