We are pleased that Alessia, Dominik, and Mariano are joining out team. Alessia and Dominik are medical students working on their projects titled «Long term prognostic value of enhanced neuronal stress responses in women and men with cardiovascular disease» and «Exploring Predictors of Enhanced Neuronal Stress Responses in Cardiovascular Disease», respectively. Moreover, Mariano will support us with the data collection and patient recruitment for our COVID-19 project. Glad to have you in our team!
In collaboration with the Universities of Lausanne, Zurich, Geneva, Fribourg, Bern and Basel and the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switherland, we have been awared 200'000 CHF in the P7 Swissuniversities call: «Equal Opportunities and University Development». The funding will enable collaboration on implementing sex and gender-specific medicine in the Swiss medical curricula and the development of a network and a platform for Gender Medicine in Switzerland.
We regret to say goodbye to Achi and Muriel, who will leave us for a new adventure at Harvard University (U.S.). We thank Achi for his fantastic and inspiring work and Muriel for her endless enthusiasm. Even though both will leaving us, they will work with us in close collaboration. We wish you all the best!

Nadia starts her medical doctoral thesis in our group. She will investigate the «Development of a Gender-sensitive Risk Assessment Tool to Predict Short- and Long-term Outcomes of COVID-19».
What an interesting day at the Gebhard Lab! The SRF «Einstein» film crew visited our lab to report on our research on the differences of heart attacks in women and men. The programme was broadcast on November 5th 2020 from 21:05 - 21:50 with the title «Geschlechterrollen: Wo die Forschung Frauen vergisst».
We are delighted that Mina, Chiara, and Arnaud, all third-year medical students, will support our COVID-19 SNSF project with their skills and positive energy, and will conduct their medical master thesis on «Geschlechterunterschiede bei den Spätfolgen von COVID-19», «Einfluss des soziokulturellen Geschlechts («Gender») auf den Krankheitsverlauf von COVID-19», and «Einfluss der Geschlechtshormone Östrogen und Testosteron auf den Krankheitsverlauf von COVID-19» in our lab.
